A design philosophy of innovation
As founder of iSpace, which specialises in graphic design solutions, Marc Levy has a love of innovation that was largely influenced by his father, Leon Levy.
During his 35 years of working in the signage industry, Leon Levy set
a number of precedents and was able to patent some of the designs he created.
Some of his pioneering works were specifically targeted for the window
graphic design market.
Through his work Leon was able to bridge the gap between traditional elements
of sign writing while embracing the hi-tech technologies prevalent today.
And Leon’s sense of innovation has impacted on his son’s creative
ambitions and attitude.
Since entering the signage design industry, Marc Levy has gained a reputation
for being able to create work that embraces the old and the new. While
supporting traditional art and craft methods, Marc is able to infuse his
products with elements of high technology and design flair.
Drawing from his father’s sense of originality, Marc has gone on to produce a range of prototype signs that have proved a commercial success for his company. Elements of his design philosophy include:
- creating hand-finished products;
- developing products with a tailored look;
- embracing style; and
- committing to understanding new design trends.
In his own right, Marc has been responsible for creating signs that range from larger-than-life neon signs to billboards on international highways and to more intimate products for smaller companies.
The strength of his approach and the success of his work have been in having a hands-on approach, paying attention to detail and – like his father before him – being innovative and making products with pride.
