Banner Material - What is it?

We provide a standard stock of banner materials that will suit almost all of your sign needs. Most centers stock 14-ounce vinyl and nylon woven banner material. Although there are other types of materials such as Tyvek and polyethylene, these are for limited applications and cannot be expected to last longer than a few days or weeks outside.

You should consider using a heavier weight material when the banner will be suspended between poles or buildings. Grommets every 300mm minimize stress and the two-ply corners ensure strength for intermediate to long-term outdoor life.

Our standard, stocked banner material is guaranteed to be vinyl receptive only on one side. If the sign is hung outside, letters on the second side may come off in as few as three days. If letters are applied to the proper side, though, the banner can last many years outdoors. Of course, proper care and handling will affect the longevity of a banner.
